Arvid De Kleijn wins GP de Fourmies - La Voix du Nord
Finishing off a great team effort, Arvid De Kleijn secured his second win of the season at the Grand Prix de Fourmies for Tudor Pro Cycling.
The Dutch sprinter, fresh from recovering from an injury, relied on his exceptional lead-out train, made up primarily of teammates who share his native language, to guide him to victory.
"It was a great team effort," said De Kleijn. "Seb [Loze Changizi] led first, followed by Rick [Pluimers] until 500 meters to go, and then Mikael [Zijlaard], who always delivers a great lead-out."
De Kleijn felt the pressure to then finish it off for the team. "I just had to and I am happy we did. We’ll try again next week at the Grand Prix d'Isbergues."
De Kleijn, racing on a BMC Teammachine 01 continued: "It was a tough race with a lot of attacks, and it was pretty chaotic. But we stayed calm. We were here with the 'Dutch squad' and one Danish guy, and since we hadn’t raced together for a while due to multiple injuries, we were eager to show that we’re still a team capable of winning."
